Wearing oversized plaid shirt?

I want to wear an oversized plaid with an unzipped hoodie above but I'm not sure about the jeans? I wouldn't wear leggings as it's cold and I feel I'm going to look funny if I wear skinny jeans as the plaid is so oversized.. or should I tuck part of the shirt in my jeans?
