What does the term "sludge" mean when a doctor says your have sludge in your gall bladder?

Biliary sludge means bile that is too thick or viscous for normal flow in the biliary tract, including gall bladder and bile ducts. The prominent sign is obstructive jaundice. However, on exploration, no obstruction is found.
