Curious as how to find, and catch Bowfin.?

This may or may not help you. I caught a bow fin one time, by accident. In a canoe on a spring fed river, casting a salt/pepper tube weedless and weightless with 4 lb. test. Where the creek ran into the river, right by a small log, he hit it hard and fought hard. I was fishing for b and caught a 3lb. bowfin.
