Why does the SPL turn mediocrity into heroes ?

I ask again- why does the Scottish Pub League turn journeymen, mediocre 'strikers' into 'legends' ? I call forth Marco Negri, Dado Prso and Maurice Edu amongst literally hundreds of others. Is it possibly due to the low quality of football in this league that makes these nobodies look great ? Hmmmmmm......
