Does the Devil Punishment Fit The Crime?

None of God's punishments fit the crime. I would never, NEVER condemn my children to eternal suffering, not for any reason. Especially not when it's something I could have prevented but chose not to. That would be more my fault than theirs, because it's our job as parents to help them along the way.
